Greetings in the Name of the Risen One,

Membership and Confirmation classes start this week after worship. It’s a brown-bag lunch gathering from about 11:45-12:30. They will run until the middle of November. They are for anyone aged 12 and up wanting to explore questions of faith and their place in the church.

This week Rainbow Worship at St. Mary’s Road United Church has Nursery, Tots, Rainbow Kids, Jr. Cafe, and Sr. Youth Group. That’s right, we have something for everyone from 0 to 18!

In Journey we continue our Season of Creation series. Our theme over the whole year is “Joy.” This week and up until Oct. 4th (St. Francis of Assisi Sunday), we explore different ways that Joy is found in creation. Our focus scripture for Mountain Sunday is the Parable of the Fig Tree (Luke 13) and the Cursing of the Fig Tree (Matthew 21).

“In every life we have some trouble, when you worry you make it double, don’t worry, be happy”. (Bobby McFerrin)  Tree of Life will seek Jesus’ answer to the question: how can we overcome fear and worry? The bible has something to say about it in Matthew 6:25-34.

Worship starts at 10:15 and all are welcome!  Or come a bit earlier for Fair Trade Coffee.

We look forward to seeing you!

Shalom, Salaam, Shanti, Béke, Peace,

Alice & Philip
