Greetings in the Name if the Risen One,

Alice is with us for just a short while longer; her last Sunday is January 24. Our farewell gathering for Alice is tomorrow, Saturday, Jan 16 from 2-4pm with a light lunch provided.

Tree of Life will focus on scripture in Isaiah and Acts.

In our Journey worship, this season of Epiphany, we’re exploring aspects of the gospel going into the world and the joy of community. We’re using the Gospel of John over these coming weeks and encourage you all to have a go at reading it (there are a videos of it if you prefer: one on Netflix; and Christopher Plummer narrated one www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ-xbrMecBc ). This week we look at the way John deplores discipleship.

This week Young People’s Worship at St. Mary’s Road United Church has Nursery, Tots, Elementary Kids, Jr. Cafe, and Sr. Youth Group. We’re encouraging children in our young people’s worship to bring a non-perishable food item as their “offering.” Food items donated go to Harvest, West Broadway Community Ministry, and the SMRUC Emergency Food.

Worship starts at 10:15 and all are welcome!  Or come a bit earlier for Fair Trade Coffee.

We look forward to seeing you!

Shalom, Salaam, Shanti, Béke, Peace,

Alice & Philip

Thank you for all the donations of mitts and hats this year for the West Broadway Community Ministry and Winnipeg Harvest!
