In the Name of the Risen One,
This Sunday, in the Tree of Life Sanctuary, we focus on “New Things”. Come and hear the Youth Band as they offer their acapella song “A New Day Dawning”.
Journey continues our series on the New Testament book and sequel to Luke’s Gospel: The Acts of the Apostles. This week we look at 20.32-35. We sit down with our very own Shaun Loney and talk about part his story and how he finds himself “called to action.” Many know of his passions and his justice concerns–reconciliation and Indigenous justice, economic, ecologic, but how do they coalesce in him? We are more than simply the sum of what we do. How do you see yourself in this interconnected world?
In Children and Youth Worship they continue to prepare for the Variety Show following worship on Sunday, May 1st. Plan on staying next Sunday to hear some talented performers!
This week Young People’s Worship at St. Mary’s Road United Church has Nursery, Tots, Elementary Kids, Jr. Cafe, and Sr. Youth Group. We’re encouraging children in our young people’s worship to bring a non-perishable food item as their “offering.” Food items donated go to Harvest, West Broadway Community Ministry, and the SMRUC Emergency Food.
Worship starts at 10:15 and all are welcome! Or come a bit earlier for Fair Trade Coffee.
We look forward to seeing you!

Shalom, Salaam, Shanti, Béke, Peace,
Debbie & Philip

Food Assistance Request
Food donations are need for this year’s Variety show luncheon after worship on Sunday, May 1st.
Signup sheets are located in the junction. and a information copy is attached to this email.
If it is easier please email Laurie Humphreys, lauriehumphreys@shaw.ca, to indicate which item(s) you will be able to assist with.
In addition to the food request, there is a need for 2 volunteers to assist with food preparation on the morning of the variety show during worship.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Laurie Humphreys at lauriehumphreys@shaw.ca.

I was at West Broadway yesterday. Their food shelves are getting low on their easy-prep food like kraft dinner, soups and canned meats & fish. Please bring an item or two to West Broadway’s High Tea this Saturday or to church on Sunday to restock West Broadway’s shelves. The High Tea is open to all (no gender or age restrictions) from 2 to 4 and will have great silent auction prizes to bid on. Wear your favourite or craziest hat! Hope to see you there. – Twila
