For the first time ever, our featured guest will be an author – SMRUC’s very own Shaun Loney, with musical support from ‘Carlos and the Suspiroes.’

Shaun is making a huge difference in our city and province. He has been a driving force behind successful social enterprises such as BUILD and Aki Energy. His new book ‘An Army of Problem Solvers’ has been endorsed by Grand Chief Sheila North Wilson, by Cree Elder and former United Church moderator the Very Reverend Stan McKay, and by Dr. Evelyn Forget of the U of M’s Department of Economics. If you come to the coffeehouse, you’ll be able to buy ‘An Army of Problem Solvers’ at a discounted price. All proceeds from ticket and book sales go to the Social Enterprise Development Fund.

Carlos and the Suspiroes is a musical project of Chuck Kroeker (aka Carlos). For this gig, he will be joined by Nancy Finlay on vocals, Jane Martens on keyboard, Jon Wong on bass and Lucas Sader on drums. Their songs will express hope for better days for all of us – First Nations, the descendants of settlers, and new Canadians.

Invite your friends, and come and support a good thing.
