No worship services July 23 through August 20, 2017

July 23, 2017 - August 20, 2017

Event Navigation

St. Mary’s Road United Church will not be holding worship services for 5 Sundays this summer:

July 23, July 30, August 6, August 13, and August 20.

Our worships will begin again on August 27 at 10:30am in the Journey Worship Space.

We hope that this “Summer Sabbatical” will provide an opportunity to experience worships in other churches and locations moving us outside of our own church building and enabling us to bring back ideas that we might like to incorporate here at SMRUC, to give a “pause” enjoy the beauty of Creation and many festival activities we have during the summer season here in Winnipeg, and to give our dedicated volunteers a break to renew and rejuvenate before the busy-ness of fall begins.

There is No Rush by Wayne Muller
(in Sabbath: Restoring the Sacred Rhythm of Rest)
“…Sabbath says, Be still. Stop. There is no rush to get to the end, because we are never finished. Take time to rest, and eat, and drink, and be refreshed. And in the gentle rhythm of that refreshment, listen to the sound the heart makes as it speaks the quiet truth of what is needed.”

Information on pastoral care coverage during this time will be on our church answering machine at 204-257-0678

SMRUC Emergency Food Box

Did you know that SMRUC has an emergency food box located in the Junction space? It is for use by those people who might walk in needing an emergency supply of food prior to the regular Food Bank day. It is sorted and some may be sent to West Broadway as well. Sometimes our box gets very low on supplies. Please bring non-perishable food whenever you can to keep it full. [ Items like tuna, soup, beans, peanut butter etc. ]

"I love that there are so many ways for my kids to be involved at SMRUC!"
